Two 11-year-old girls were injured in a serious traffic accident in Innsbruck on Wednesday, one of them seriously. A motorist (66) had overtaken the two on a protective path.
At about 12:50 p.m., the two students crossed a pedestrian crossing at the intersection of Erzherzog-Eugen-Strasse and Sennstrasse. At the same time, the 66-year-old Austrian drove in her car on Erzherzog-Eugen-Strasse towards the intersection. Near the intersection was a vehicle that locals had to drive past. There was then a collision with the pedestrians on the protection path.
Taken to hospital with serious injuries
According to the police, the 66-year-old first hit an 11-year-old German who lives in Austria. Then the car with the side mirror should have hit an Austrian (also eleven years old). While she escaped with minor injuries, the German girl was seriously injured. The emergency doctor and rescue service attended to her on the spot, after which she was admitted to the Innsbruck clinic.
