Curious case among our favorite neighbors in Germany: a deaf woman (37) was initially thrown out of her apartment in Halle in the state of Saxony-Anhalt. But not because she didn’t owe the rent, but because her neighbors felt disturbed by the loud sex sounds coming from their four walls.
As “Bild” reports, the special case has the legal name “97 C 607/23” – the document states that two neighbors (37, 73) reported all visits from men during which there were allegedly sex sounds. for the neighbor who had fallen into disrepute. The duo sent these complaints to the responsible rental office of the Halleschen Wohnungsgesellschaft. This first responded with a warning to the tenant, after which the “extraordinary termination due to persistent disruption of public order” followed.
The case ended up in court
During an initial trial, a judge approved the deportation. The deaf woman named Sindy K. replied to the court in writing as follows: ‘I do not have sex with every man who comes to visit me.’ And further: ‘I sell a lot of things through classified ads. But when I have sex, I can’t hear how loud it is because of my disability. But that’s none of my neighbors’ business.”
The decision to terminate the lease is not yet legally binding, 37-year-old Sindy K. will appeal. Follow-up to follow.
