An unusual theft took place on Tuesday morning at a construction site in Jenbach in the Tyrolean district of Schwaz. A 68-year-old apparently wanted to get an impact drill from a flatbed truck. But the owner didn’t accept it.
The 48-year-old worker watched at the construction site as the suspected thief took the impact drill set, worth a four-figure sum, from the back of his flatbed truck. The local resident followed the initially unknown man, but lost sight of him and then alerted the police.
Recognized thanks to detailed description
As the police announced, the 48-year-old was able to accurately describe the suspect, after which several patrols searched the area and shortly afterwards found a man who exactly matched the description.
When confronted with the facts, the 68-year-old Bosnian was astute and admitted to having stolen the drill set. He then returned the stolen goods to the owner complete and undamaged. The 68-year-old is now facing charges.
