More than 30 defects – police remove scrap cars from traffic in Graz

Date:

During a routine check in the city of Graz, police removed a driver from Slovenia whose truck was found to have more than 30 technical defects. The driver could only partially understand the excitement.

The officers of Traffic Inspectorate 2 of the Graz police are used to what they saw on the morning of Shrove Tuesday, but it also surprised them: around 10 a.m. they noticed an apparently dilapidated truck. So they stopped the driver, a Slovenian living in Graz, and conducted a driver and vehicle check.

Holes and broken brake cables
The vehicle was closely examined at one of the country’s vehicle inspection centers. The experts discovered more than thirty technical defects, including damaged bumpers, defective brake cables, non-functioning lighting (including brake lights, turn signals) and missing door openers and seat belt buckles. What was particularly striking was the extensive rusting of the bodywork.

The 47-year-old driver showed only limited insight and stated that he only wanted to drive to a construction site anyway. Due to “imminent danger”, the man’s license plate and registration certificate were confiscated on the spot. The Slovenian is now caught for numerous violations.
