This week 360 appointments were offered for vaccination against monkey pox in Vienna. They were taken very quickly, as was said on Friday: the offer was exhausted in 20 to 25 minutes.
About 1,700 reservations will be made on Thursday, 360 of which will be processed at the Austria Center Vienna as of Monday, a spokesman for health councilor Pater Hacker (SPÖ) said Friday.
The 360 appointments span a period of four weeks, or 18 injections per day. There are only 18 appointments because the vaccinations are accompanied by very detailed informative conversations about the individual risk profile, according to the office of the Municipal Health Council. The second vaccination will follow in the next four weeks – this is also the recommended minimum interval between the two injections.
Further dates for preventive vaccinations will be released once new deliveries of the vaccine arrive in Austria.
