The Diocese of Graz-Seckau is starting an energy-saving project and wants to significantly lower the temperature in its private school in Graz. Parents and student council sound the alarm.
Saving energy is the order of the day. In Styria too, the state government and municipalities are working on or have already presented numerous programs. For example, the city of Graz wants to set a good example by lowering the water and air temperature in the municipal indoor swimming pools to 20 degrees. It is also recommended to heat offices to a maximum of 20 degrees. Hospitals or nurseries will of course not be affected, Mayor Elke Kahr (KPÖ) made clear. But now the first concerned parents have contacted the “Krone” because the temperature in their children’s school is being lowered.
