The final result of the parliamentary elections in Sweden on Sunday confirmed the narrow majority for the conservative-right camp. Conservative Ulf Kristersson’s four-party bloc won 176 seats last Sunday. The left-wing camp of the previous Social Democratic Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson received slightly less, namely 173 mandates.
Nevertheless, according to the final figures, the Social Democrats are the strongest party with 30.3 percent. Second came the Swedish Democrats, who achieved a record result of 20.5 percent, replacing the moderates as the second strongest force for the first time. A total of eight parties reached the Reichstag in Stockholm. Four of them formed Andersson’s camp, four Kristersson’s. The turnout was around 84 percent.
