At the weekend autumn has set in well in Austria, in the west there was even snow at higher altitudes – as in Obertauern (see photo above) – and chains were now mandatory. But from next Thursday or Friday, the mild, sunny autumn weather will spread across the country again.
Below the north, foehn appears on assembly often the sun from Osttirol eastwards. Wednesday: The continued northwesterly flow will also bring dense cloud with rain and showers over northern Austria in the middle of the week in the northern congestion of the Alps, between the Bregenzerwald and the Mostviertel. The snow line will be between 1500 and 1800 meters on Wednesday. The chance of showers generally decreases in the course of the afternoon. In the south there is more sun all day long. On the eastern edge of the Alps, a persistent strong wind blows from the northwest. The early temperatures are between four and eleven degrees, the maximum daytime temperatures rise to twelve to 17 degrees.
With the influence of high pressure, I am weakened Thursday the northwest flow over the eastern Alps, only between the Waldviertel and western Styria are denser clouds with a few raindrops to be expected. In the morning, minus one to plus eight degrees is expected, the maximum daytime temperatures are probably around 14 to 19 degrees.
