A total of eight fire brigades were deployed in Frantschach in Wolfsberg (Carinthia) on Monday morning. A house is on fire.
Since shortly after 4 a.m., the volunteer fire brigades Frantschach – St. Gertraud, Bad St. Leonhard, St. Margarethen im Lavanttal, St. Michael, St. Stefan, Wolfsberg and Kamp are fighting the fire that broke out in a residential building in Frantschach-St.Gertraud completely destroyed. It is not known at this time if there are any injuries.
The extinguishing work was difficult because the firefighters had to deal with a lack of water and the affected home in Vorderwölch is at an altitude of about 900 meters. According to the fire service, several tankers had to bring water to the narrowly built-up area.
Older lady missing?
According to initial information, an elderly lady is missing. The emergency services want to clarify whether she was in the house with an interior insert during the fire. In any case, rescue and an ambulance are ready.
