Resentment because of the hopelessly overcrowded student buses in northern Burgenland: children from Wimpassing an der Leitha recently had to get off the bus on their way to school, others were not even taken home on their way home. Complaints from parents have so far not led to an improvement in the situation, with the VOR they promise an adjustment after the first weeks of school.
The start of school is associated with nervous tension for many children and parents, especially when children travel alone on public transport for the first time. A mother from the Baden district of Lower Austria can sing a song about it. Her ten-year-old son has been in first grade at the Theresianum in Eisenstadt since the beginning of September. To get from home to school and back again, the boy uses the ÖBB PO Box 200 or 210.
None of the waiting students were taken
Both lines run from Domplatz in Eisenstadt through the station “Oberberg”, where her son gets on, in the direction of Vienna. But on the second day of school, the kid didn’t get home as planned, because both buses were so overcrowded when they arrived at the Oberberg that none of the waiting students could be taken.
