The Second Vice President of the Government and Minister of Labor and Social Economy, Yolanda Díaz, stated this Wednesday that: the situation of 10,600 employees of the Glovo company has been regularised, after the Labor Inspectorate discovered violations of the labor rights of its employees.
She has also indicated that the Labor Inspectorate has imposed a fine to the company of almost 79 million euros for violating the so-called ‘Rider Law’.
“We are facing an authentic performance of bogus self-employed workers and the weight of the law is going to fall on this company, as it has already fallen with the Inspectorate,” the second vice president warned.
Díaz has accused Glovo of “impeding” the work of the Labor Inspectorate, something he described as “very serious” in a social and democratic state under the rule of law, in which companies must “comply with the law”.
