The Feldkirch prosecutor’s office has brought charges against a 74-year-old Viennese man who has been organizing holiday camps in Styria, Tyrol and Vorarlberg for decades and allegedly sexually assaulted a then nine-year-old boy in one of these camps. in Tyrol in 2009. The man is due to appear before a lay judge in Innsbruck on October 19, reports Andreas Stutter, vice president of the regional court of Innsbruck.
The impeccable accused, father of an adult son, vehemently denies the crime. He is also accused of abusing his supervisory role as camp administrator to engage in sexual acts with the child.
The now 22-year-old victim described the incident in detail and convincingly to investigators at the Vienna State Criminal Investigation Service and “left an extremely credible overall impression,” quoted the “Salzburger Nachrichten” from the indictment. The alleged victim said he ran from the suspect’s tent into the woods and hid there until other children found the boy and took him back to the camp. Out of fear and shame, however, he did not tell anyone what had happened.
