While driving, a tractor driver in Goggerwenig in Carinthia noticed smoke development on Wednesday morning. Shortly afterwards, the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames.
With the presence of mind, the man steered his tractor into a bus bay, parked it there and immediately notified emergency services. The quickly arriving comrades of the fire brigade from Thalsdorf and Launsdorf were able to prevent the fire from spreading to the trailer. It was loaded with silage.
“To prevent the trailer from catching fire, we had to fight the flames with heavy respiratory protection,” says the Thalsdorf fire brigade. The fire was finally extinguished with the help of the tank fire-extinguishing vehicles of the FF St. Veit. It is unknown at this time what caused the fire.
