A week after violent storms in the central Italian Adriatic province of Ancona, the body of a missing person was recovered on Friday. This is an eight-year-old boy whose body was found in a field in the village of Castelleone di Suasa.

The child was spotted by the owner of the field, who raised the alarm, according to Italian media. The number of victims of the storm rose to twelve. A 56-year-old woman is still wanted.

The boy, who was swept up by the bodies of water while in the flooded area with his mother, was searched for by helicopters for days. The mother could save herself.

Firefighters, who had also traveled from other Italian regions, civil defense and other rescue workers were continuously involved in the search.

In the provinces of Ancona and Pesaro Urbino, streets and houses were flooded a week ago and numerous cars were washed away after violent storms Friday evening. Within two hours 400 millimeters of rain fell, the same as normal in six months.
