For fear of punishment – Lenker fled the police twice

Because he was on the road without a light and fearing a possible punishment, an 18-year-old fled twice from the police in Judenburg, Styria on Saturday night. In the morning the young man turned himself in. He is shown.

Shortly before 2 a.m., a police patrol in the town of Judenburg stopped an 18-year-old driver from the Murtal district who was driving his vehicle without the light on. During the check, the police officers found that the installed number plates were registered on another vehicle.

After the driver refused an alcohol test, he suddenly got into the car and fled in the direction of Paradeisgasse. There, the driver of the vehicle was again stopped by the following police officers after a few hundred meters.

Further escape on foot
When officers stood next to the vehicle and asked the 18-year-old to get out, he pressed the accelerator and continued his journey. Both officers jumped to avoid being run over by the car. No one was injured. The driver fled in the direction of Wickenburgstrasse, where he hit a curb and damaged his vehicle. The man then continued his escape on foot.

Has turned himself in to the police
The 18-year-old reported to the police station in Judenburg around 10:00 a.m. When questioned, he said he had fled for fear of punishment. The man is on trial for multiple offenses.
