“Hundreds of people” – Two more mass graves discovered in Izyum

Date:

According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, two more mass graves have been found in the recaptured city of Izyum in eastern Ukraine. It’s about “big graves with hundreds of people,” Selenskyj said in an interview with US broadcaster CBS published Sunday night.

In the interview, Zelenskyj also called for the continuation of sanctions against Russia. “These sanctions will have both political and financial consequences.”

Odessa shelled with drones
According to the Ukrainian army, Russian troops fired two drones at military targets in the Odessa region. A major fire had broken out and ammunition had exploded, the southern command of the Ukrainian armed forces reported via the SMS service Telegram. So far there is no information about casualties, the civilian population has been brought to safety, it is said.

Russian recruits poorly trained
According to British intelligence, many Russian fighters recruited as a result of the recent partial mobilization are going to war in Ukraine without proper training or experience. Moscow now faces the enormous challenge of training its troops, a short report from the British Ministry of Defense revealed on Monday.

In the Russian army, unlike many western armies, it is customary to receive initial training within operational units rather than in special training institutes. Within each brigade, a certain number of instructors are normally assigned to train new recruits. However, many of these so-called third battalions are currently deployed in Ukraine.
