Eduardo Zubiaurre temporarily left office last May for personal reasons, and as the employers have now announced, the Eibar businessman has no intention of returning to this responsibility.
Elizabeth Bust will remain as head of the Confebask presidency until 2023, the year in which Eduardo Zubiaurewhom he replaced after his sick leave for health reasons and who, according to sources from the Basque Employers’ Association, does not intend to assume this responsibility.
Precisely this Wednesday, the General Council of Confebask will be held and it will be Busto who, as president, will present the usual appearance to the media, after this body has ratified the replacement.
Based on the legal provisions, when Zubiaurre announced his withdrawal, another person was temporarily appointed to assume the presidency.
Confebask has three vice presidencies, appointed by each territory, and the statutes state that, in cases like this, whoever holds the vice presidency of the territory proposed by the president, in this case Adegi, is the temporary role of the presidency .
For this reason, Isabel Busto, who has been vice president of Confebask since 2021, assumed the presidency and will hold this position until 2023, once it is confirmed that Zubiaurre will not return. In principle, it is possible to start the process of appointing a new president, reducing the current term by one year, but all partners choose Busto to continue until 2023.
