A 39-year-old man has been admitted to a psychiatric hospital after fatally stabbing his six-year-old son. The father called 911 from a campsite in Bösdorf, Schleswig-Holstein, on Sunday evening and said he had killed his son. Rescuers and police officers found the dead boy at the crime scene, who had multiple stab wounds.
The suspect’s father was arrested without resistance. He is said to have suffered cuts himself. However, these were not life-threatening. The Kiel Criminal Investigation Commission is conducting an investigation together with the public prosecutor’s office.
Guilt is in doubt
According to preliminary investigations as a result of a previous psychiatric condition, there are serious doubts about the guilt of the man from Hamburg. That is why the investigating judge of the court in Kiel admitted him to a psychiatric clinic at the request of the public prosecutor. The police and public prosecutor initially did not provide further information.
