Kremlin is serious – four regions likely from Friday in Russia

Date:

On Friday, Russia will formally complete the annexation of the four Russian-controlled regions in Ukraine. At a ceremony Friday afternoon in the Kremlin with President Vladimir Putin, the agreements on the admission of these regions to the Russian Federation will be signed, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Thursday. Putin will also make a speech, he said.

In ‘referendums’ in these regions, which were criticized by the West as sham votes, the separatists said an overwhelming majority there had voted in favor of the annexation.

Separatist leaders already in Moscow

The heads of pro-Russian governments in the eastern Ukrainian region of Donetsk and in the southern Ukrainian regions of Zaporizhia and Kherson landed in the Russian capital on Wednesday evening, Russian news agencies reported.
