According to data from the National Institute of Statistics, in June 1887 mortgages were formalized in Bizkaia, Gipuzkoa and Álava, while 406 mortgage contracts were registered in Navarre.
The signing of new residential mortgages in the Basque Country fell by 21.8% in June compared to the same month last year, although it recovered from May when the decline reached 26.9%. In Navarra, it is down 11% when compared to the data from a year ago.
According to data released Thursday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE), formalized in June in Bizkaia, Gipuzkoa and Alava In 1887, mortgages on houses and borrowed capital amounted to 324.8 million euros, bringing the average mortgage to more than 172,000 euros.
