North Korea conducted another ballistic missile test on Saturday. According to the Japanese Coast Guard, two missiles flew toward the Sea of Japan and crashed into the sea outside Japan’s so-called “Exclusive Economic Zone,” 200 miles (about 320 kilometers) around the archipelago.
It was already the fourth rocket launch this week. North Korea recently tested two ballistic missiles on Thursday, just hours after US Vice President Kamala Harris left South Korea.
Launched north of Pyongyang
The two missiles were launched north of the North Korean capital Pyongyang, the South Korean general staff said in a statement. The missiles flew 359 and 400 kilometers respectively, said Japanese Defense Minister Toshiro Ino.
The missile launch came after the naval forces of South Korea, the United States and Japan held trilateral anti-submarine exercises on Friday for the first time in five years.
