Four boys between the ages of 15 and 17 were arrested Sunday night after they allegedly surrounded a group of youths in central Vienna and brutally robbed a 17-year-old. The youngest of the gang tried to escape – he ran towards Urania. Just two warning shots from a police officer’s service weapon caused the 15-year-old to stop.
The robbery took place around 1 a.m., police said on Sunday. At Franz-Josefs-Kai, patrol officers were approached by several youths because one of them had just been robbed.

The group had celebrated in a bar and were followed by the suspects on their way home. The adolescent suspects focused their violent actions on a 17-year-old, who was harassed, suffocated and threatened. In the end, the victim surrendered all his money.

The officers were then able to track down four suspects who matched the person descriptions. The handcuffs clicked and a hunting knife was taken from a suspected perpetrator.
