At Linz cemetery – burglars steal copper lids from urns

Date:

Unfortunately, God just wasn’t watching! Burglars and thieves raged through a Linz cemetery, destroying urn graves. The loot: copper!

You currently get seven euros for a kilo of the non-ferrous metal. The total loot for the burglars is around 800 euros. But the moral and emotional damage they inflicted on the victims far outweighs them. They have destroyed, desecrated and violated the final resting place of loved ones.

The perpetrator(s) broke into the work hut of the urn forest in Kleinmünchen on Pestalozzistrae between 8 p.m. on Saturday and 8:30 a.m. on Sunday. With a tool stolen here, the perpetrators went through the urn forest, specifically looking for copper lids from graves.

The Kleinmünchen Police Inspectorate is looking for witnesses and information (telephone number: 059133/45-85100).

With the tools they loosened the copper roofs of the urn graves and stole them. A total of 68 rest areas were destroyed, 43 copper roofs were stolen and 25 damaged. The latter were ready to be taken when the police arrived. The perpetrators were probably insane and could not have taken all the loot.
