Car crashed into river – missing driver found dead from Bregenzer Ach

Date:

As the police confirm, the body found in the Bregenzer Ach is actually the man who crashed with his car in the Mellenbach in Mellau on Sunday. The investigation into the accident has not yet been completed.

Now it’s sad certainty. The 42-year-old driver, who has been missing and wanted since Sunday, could only be saved dead from the Bregenzer Ach. A male body was found on Monday near the bicycle bridge over the Ach between Bregenz and Hard. At that time, however, it could not be said with certainty that this was the person wanted.

According to the director, fingerprint or DNA comparisons would have been necessary for identification. But now it has been established that it is actually the 42-year-old man. It had fallen in the early morning hours of Sunday morning in the Mellenbach in Mellau in the Bregenzerwald for reasons not yet clarified. The car wreck was discovered hours later in the Bregenzer Ach. The flood washed the car into the Ach.

It is still unclear how the tragic accident could have happened and the police investigation into the exact course of events has not yet been completed.
