A 53-year-old from Klagenfurt was hit by a dried-out ash tree on Wednesday afternoon. The man suffered fatal injuries.
The man from Klagenfurt was busy working in his forest plot in Viktring when he wanted to cut down an ash tree about 50 centimeters thick with a chainsaw. The tree may have been broken. He fell for the 53-year-old.
Neighbor found dead
A neighbor found the victim a short time later and notified emergency services. “The notified emergency physician performed resuscitation measures. However, these were not successful. All he could find was death,” police said.
The professional fire brigade of Klagenfurt carried out the rescue of the dead.
