An animal abuser is currently engaged in mischief from the Wernberg area. Three-year-old cat Minnie was shot in the head by a stranger.
The incident is said to have taken place last weekend in Umberg, near the Mattheuskerk. “When our ‘Minnie’ came home she looked quite bruised. At first I thought she had been fighting another cat, as is often the case with free cats,” said owner Bernd Stechauner. Because the wound was very festering, he took his cat to the vet – and there he got the shocking news.
“After the injury was cleaned up, it was determined to be a gunshot wound. Probably caused by an air pistol or gas pistol,” says Stechauner, who has already informed neighbors and residents to warn them about the animal abuser. The crime will also be reported to the police.
Fortunately, three-year-old “Minnie” survived the attack and is now on the mend.
