An oil trail through the entire city of Eisenstadt caused a lot of traffic disruption on Friday morning. A vehicle lost its lubricant on Kasernenstrae, the driver may not have noticed and then drove on to the retail park on the other side of town.
More than 20 firefighters from St. Georgen and the city fire department were at it for about two hours as of 7 a.m., as well as construction site workers from the capital and state. With sweepers, they cleared the applied binder from the roadway while police directed early morning traffic.
It is not yet clear which vehicle is involved. As a result, the driver could not be found, according to the Eisenstadt city fire department.
