Just follow your nose! After a tip from the neighborhood, the Salzburg agents drove to the Schallmoos district on Saturday evening. There, an apartment turned out to be a drug hub. The police officers were even able to locate the apartment due to the smell of cannabis.
A concerned caller had telephoned the police to report that several suspicious persons were standing in front of a residential building.
The officers got out, saw a cloud of cannabis and followed it. Their noses led them to an apartment where several people were staying.
A 28-year-old Austrian, the owner of the apartment, let the officials in. The police officers also met an Italian (21), a city of Salzburg (19) and two Serbs (21, 36). Thanks in part to a drug detection dog, 188 grams of cannabis herb, 15 grams of hash, other addictive substances and money worth 1500 euros were secured.
The 21-year-old Serb admitted to having the drugs and cash. All involved were generally reported.
