The Scottish government aims to hold another independence consultation on October 19, 2023 next year.
Scotland’s nationalist leader and prime minister, Nicola Sturgeonsaid this Monday that independence is “essential” to escape “Westminster misrule” (HQ of the British Institutions in London), in his closing speech at the annual conference of the Scottish National Party (SNP).
Sturgeon, leader of the SNP, has concluded the Nationalists’ Congress held in the Scottish city of Aberdeen and confirmed that Scotland “has everything it takes to a country of independent success“.
In the speech, he presented the current crisis as a reaction to when his government plans to hold a new consultation on the region’s independence. “Why independence in times of crisis? The answer lies in the question itself”has declared before a packed house that he has applauded her on numerous occasions.
