Firefighting in Enns – major fire in the company keeps 13 fire brigades on their toes

Date:

13 fire brigades were called up on Sunday morning for a major fire at OSI Food Solutions Austria in Enns (Upper Austria). Thick black smoke has been rising there for hours, but people are apparently not in danger – toxic substances would not have been stored.

On Sunday morning, a fire broke out in the industrial hall of the food production company OSI Food Solutions Austria in Enns, which spread quickly and could be seen from afar. 13 fire brigades were called in to help.

Due to the heavy smoke development, residents of an adjacent settlement had to be asked by the fire service to close their windows. No toxic substances are said to have been released during the fire, no hazardous substances are stored in the company.

The building is completely on fire after flue gas has been ignited and the fire can only be fought from the outside. The operation has made the L568 difficult to pass or partially closed off for a long time.
