The renewable company statkraft celebrated an informational meeting this Tuesday in the soreasu theater de Azpeitia (Gipuzkoa), with the aim of informing citizens about the wind farms it plans to build in the Basque Country and sharing with them the proposed model. It was the first meeting since the news broke. Numerous azpeitiarras have approached the meeting. It is clear that the Piaspe wind farm project has aroused the curiosity of the citizens.
The company has therefore presented the initiative and has tried to resolve the citizens’ doubts, in particular the doubts that have arisen around the Piaspe wind farm. This park would be located between the municipalities of Azpeitia, Zestoa and Errezil, all in Gipuzkoa, and meetings are also planned in the latter two cities.

The Basque engineer and project manager of the Norwegian company, Jon Zayaswho is responsible for explaining the plan to the inhabitants of the different cities involved in the public exhibition sessions that started this Tuesday, pointed out a few days ago on Radio Euskadi that large-scale mills are being considered, in order to take up less land that they could reach up to 200 meters high, double or triple those of the wind farms currently in operation in the Basque Country.
In the coming weeks, the company will hold new information meetings to continue integrating the citizens and the territory in the development of Piaspe and Itsaraz.
