Threat letters sent – stubborn state objector remains silent in court

Date:

She doesn’t say a word. Neither to the judge nor to the other parties involved in the proceedings. She also refuses to be examined by the forensic psychiatrist. The refusal of the state recognizes neither the judiciary nor other powers of inquiry in Austria.

Judges, lay judges, prosecutors and lawyers are already in the Vienna regional court – only the accused is missing. Her lawyer says she’s stuck with security. She doesn’t want to go through the lock at the entrance or be searched by the staff. Because she does not recognize state powers or other authorities in Austria, the lawyer explains the delay to her client.

Defendant does not say a word
After legal interns brought her in, the hearing could begin – but only on the 64-year-old’s “conditions”: she prefers to stand still and avoid any eye contact with the judge, who patiently tries to take her at least personal information. But: “I don’t answer any questions at all. That’s all I’m saying!”

Threatening letters sent to authorities
The woman also did not speak to her own lawyer before the trial: “She is clearly so in her thoughts. I could not go through the charges with her.” It says that the 64-year-old sent back threatening letters with various financial and administrative fines. According to the motto: either the fines will disappear, or the employees will have to pay money! That means inciting abuse of office and blackmail.

Mentally perfectly healthy
She did not show up for the appointment with forensic psychiatrist Peter Hofmann. So he could only investigate them on the basis of the allegations and statements. But he says she’s healthy: “She doesn’t have a mental illness. If she wanted to, she could answer any question. But she doesn’t.” Hofmann had already dealt with state objectors on several occasions: “They live their own truth!”

After a short trial, the state objector is sentenced to a year in prison – not definitively, of course!
