Dozens have been killed or injured in attacks in Syria. No one has yet claimed responsibility for an explosion near Damascus, but the Islamic State (IS) is behind another attack in the Dair as-Saur region in the east of the country.
Three civilians, nine soldiers and three IS fighters have been killed in the east, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. The attack allegedly targeted government positions. Then there were violent clashes between the IS fighters and the government side. Four workers transporting vegetables and animals got into the fray. Three of them died, one civilian was shot and his life is still in danger.
Although Islamic State (IS) lost its last stronghold in Syria more than three years ago, cells are still active in the civil war-torn country. These have repeatedly attacked government forces and their allies in the past.
