A faulty heating system causes one tenant to despair in her freezing cold house – while another tenant’s apartment turns into a sauna because the heating can’t be regulated.
In the allotment house of “Krone” reader Sabine C. (46) in Hietzing it has become freezing cold. The reason: the air/water heat pump in your heating system regularly fails. “I’m freezing because it’s only 17 degrees in my house,” said the desperate woman.
Winter hasn’t even started yet. Yet now she had to buy a gas stove. Current gas prices show that billing will not be cheap. Particularly bitter: as a teacher at a vocational school for sanitary and heating technology, she trains young people, but apparently no one can help her with her damaged heating system.
“Is a working heating system too much to ask for?”
Meanwhile, the repair costs would already be 5000 euros, plus a new compressor for 4500 euros. Saves almost 10,000 euros. “I just want a working heating system and a warm house. Is that too much to ask?” says Mrs. C. When asked, the Vaillant Group regretted the inconvenience and is now trying to find a solution together with the customer.
Tenant: “Warm out the window”
“I only moved in three months ago and I already want to get out,” says Willi Hrdlitzka. The reason for this is that the heating in his rented apartment on Barichgasse in the 3rd arrondissement has been on for four weeks. The 73-year-old cannot arrange them herself.
It has a room temperature of 26 degrees, the windows are open day and night. “It’s terrible, I’m hot out the window,” complains the tenant. Besides the fact that an overheated apartment is not comfortable, the resident suffers from energy wastage.
He also has to pay the heating costs himself – and they must not be too small. “I will never move into a house heated with district heating again,” says Hrdlitzka. In response to a “Krone” request, Arealis property management said: “We have already contacted the tenant and made an appointment to resolve this issue.”
