French police have found and taken care of seven-year-old twins kidnapped from Switzerland. The boys were unharmed, Swiss police reported on Saturday. It is about quarrels in a family that lives partly in Switzerland and partly in Spain. The conflict between the children’s parents revolves around whether the children should live in Spain or Switzerland.
According to police, the boys were with their grandparents in La Chaux-de-Fonds when several people broke into their apartment on Friday afternoon. The grandparents were “neutralized”, as the police wrote, and the children were taken away.
Grandma overpowered, boy kidnapped
According to the Swiss news agency sda, the grandmother, who took care of the two brothers, was attacked by two or three people around 12:45 pm. The Spaniard was tied up and gagged. The perpetrators then left the scene and took the children with them. The 54-year-old grandmother managed to free herself and called the police just after 1 p.m.
During the search, the getaway vehicle was discovered on the same day in southwestern France, near the Spanish border. The French police have arrested the three adult occupants. The children would be taken care of by the responsible authorities. The father of the two boys was wanted after the kidnapping in Switzerland and France.
