Both suspected Salzburg officials are now to be detained. That has been determined by the court of Linz.
The “Krone” reported on the alleged smuggling of mobile phones to the Puch-Urstein prison – Salzburg’s only prison. Two prison guards allegedly gave or did not take cell phones to the inmates and collected money for them. The two officials – one is still active in the service, the second has already left – partially admitted the allegations during questioning.
Second ex-judicial officer in custody
Lawyer Kurt Jelinek confirmed that not only the jailer who was still on active duty had to go to jail: the Linz court therefore imposed pre-trial detention because of the risk of collusion. The second, the ex-judicial officer, is now incarcerated. The police arrested the two on Wednesday in the context of a raid in Grödig.
