Never get out of the car! That is Mohamed M.’s bitter realization after his traumatic experience. His story can also happen to others. The 30-year-old was deliberately run over by a stranger in Vienna in early September.
The 30-year-old goes shopping with his wife. At an intersection on Kaiserebersdorfer Strasse, a white BMW stops next to the couple’s car. The unknown driver barks something through the open window towards the passenger. “He also looked at her stupidly,” says M. A brief teasing follows. Then the Simmeringer drives on.

The white BMW follows them, moving in front of them in an undulating line. Then the vehicles come to a stop and Mohamed M. gets out. The Stranger in the White Car – a 32-year-old multiple-convicted accelerates. The 30-year-old is thrown through the air, hits his head on the ground, falls unconscious and sustains serious injuries to his shoulder and knee.
“Lost an Ear”
A passerby later confirmed to police that the attack was clearly intentional. The perpetrator commits a hit-and-run and is later arrested at his home address. Detention! M. has been in hospital for a month and is still in pain. “I can’t walk without help. I injured my ear and need a hearing aid.”
According to top lawyer Johannes Bügler, the public prosecutor will file a complaint, “although the question is still open whether it concerns attempted murder or intentional grievous bodily harm”. In addition, the process specialist wants to receive a six-figure compensation for his client.
