Kinder spreads Salmonella risk warning on 13 more products

Date:

Ferrero continues to uncover new cases of Salmonella in Belgium related to several Kinder brand products manufactured in the European country. Initially, the chocolate company recalled specific batches of several products. Now they have decided to invite all parties to the 14 products.

According to the Food Safety and Food Agency (AESAN), “the withdrawal was extended to all batches of Kinder products manufactured at facilities at the Arlon plant in Belgium.” With this new message, products that recall “regardless of expiration date or lot number” are:

  • Kinder Schokobons 46 gr.
  • Kinder Schokobons 125 gr.
  • Kinder Shokoboni 200 gr.
  • Kinder Schokobons 225 gr.
  • Kinder Shokoboni 500 gr.
  • Kinder Shkoboni White 200 gr.
  • Kinder Surprise Maxi FROZEN 100 gr.
  • Kinder Surprise Maxi NATOONS 100 gr
  • Kinder Surprise Maxi Christmas 100 gr.
  • Kinder Surprise Maxi SMURFS 100 gr.
  • Kinder Surprise 6 units Christmas edition
  • Kinder Happy Moments 133 gr
  • Kinder Happy Moments 191 gr.
  • Kinder Mix Christmas (various weights)

Typically, AESAN recommends that people who have such a product at home “refrain from consuming it” and return it to the point of sale. If they are consumed and show symptoms of salmonellosis (diarrhea, vomiting, fever and headache), it is important to “go to a medical center”.

Nevertheless, to date (April 11, 2022), AESAN reports that no cases have been found in Spain.
