When it comes to meeting the care quotas for refugees, Vienna does the kür and Burgenland the obligation. The other seven federal states, on the other hand, are still lagging behind what has been agreed. Carinthia comes to the fore in this regard, just behind Tyrol.
On Monday, 34,879 people were in basic care in the federal capital, 15,433 more than was actually needed. Vienna has thus exceeded the quota by more than 179 percent. Burgenland, which is hardest hit by border crossings, has taken in more people than it should, at 70 people. The quota is thus achieved for 102 percent.
Carinthia takes the rearguard with 62 percent
While Lower Austria is still quite close to requirements at 89 percent thanks to the overcrowded first-aid center in Traiskirchen, the other states are lagging far behind. Carinthia is behind with 62 percent – one of the reasons why the first tents were set up in Villach and Carinthia.
Another candidate, even if the country is fighting back, is Tyrol. Nearly 4,900 refugees are housed there – but you should take in a good 7,700, meaning quota fulfillment is 63 percent. Vorarlberg does not even reach 70 percent, the state of Salzburg is not far above that.
In absolute numbers, most places in Upper Austria are missing, namely 3544. The first tents are also there now – on the grounds of the first shelter in Thalham.
