The Charter of Social Rights calls for mobilization on November 19 “against the rising cost of living”

The Euskal Herria Charter of Social Rights has called for a demonstration on November 19 in the capitals of Hegoalde “against the process of impoverishment and rising cost of living”.

The agents and unions that are part of the Charter of Social Rights of Euskal Herria appeared this Monday in Donostia-San Sebastián, coinciding with the International Day Against Poverty, to announce demonstrations under the slogan ‘Pobretzeari Stop! Decent living conditions and price control now!’.

After denouncing that the current situation is “unsustainable and that the increase in inflation is exacerbating the structural problems we already face”, they called for “to face the cuts in public services and the increase in the impoverishment of the working class”. .

From the Charter of Social Rights of Euskal Herria they have asked “a minimum wage of 1400 euros and a minimum pension of 1260 euros to make the work of workers worthy, both subject to the real CPI”.

In addition, they claim “the right to energy and industry publication and control of all energy products, as well as a roadmap to democratically plan the energy transition”.

They have also called for the “defense of public services, a tax reform for the equitable distribution of wealth and various proposals to ensure basic rights and needs such as food, housing, the regularization of all people or public transport are added to the protest table” .

The demonstrations on November 19 will start at 12:00 noon of the Artium in Vitoria-Gasteiz and at 5.30 pm from the Bastion of Pamplona/Iruña; the Boulevard of Donostia-San Sebastián and the Sacred Heart of Bilbao.

In addition, earlier This Thursday propaganda will be disseminated in defense of public services and the 26th of October a conference on energy in Vitoria-Gasteiz. Bilbao and Pamplona organize the October 27 a market with local products and under the claim of food sovereignty and the Nov 3 “an initiative for the right to housing and against tourists” will take place in San Sebastian.

On the other hand, the November 10 there will be initiatives “in favor of a decent income”. The Euskal Herria Charter of Social Rights has committed itself to “fight so that no one is left behind in this country” and has called on “all workers and popular sectors to join these calls”.
