Cyber ​​attack on “jö Bonus Club” members! Apparently, scammers have logged into customer accounts with passwords previously stolen from other sources. So far there are 15 known cases where jö bonus points have been abused. According to the current state of affairs, the damage amounts to several hundred euros. As a precaution for all customers, all online transactions have been suspended for the time being.

According to IT and security experts at the jö Bonus Club, it is suspected that the scammers tried to log into about 12,000 customer accounts (out of more than 4.3 million accounts). The reason: These jö customers had apparently entered a password for their jö account that they also use elsewhere and that was stolen there.

Online transactions stopped
All online transactions have therefore been stopped. This applies to all jö partner companies that operate an online store where bonus points can be redeemed. In detail: Until further notice, no bonus points can be collected online and no promotions can be redeemed in the online shops of the partner companies. The use in the locations of the jö partner companies is not affected.

Authorities were immediately notified, the operator said. All jö customers and partners have been informed. The IT experts of the jö Bonus Club are working hard to fully clarify the matter and prevent further damage. It is not yet possible to predict when online transactions will be fully possible again.
