Fatal accident late Monday in the Tyrolean Oberland: A 19-year-old resident in Galtür (Landeck district) drove his car off the road and fell 20 meters down a steep slope. The driver and his passenger (15) were injured.
The accident happened around 10 p.m. The 19-year-old driver was driving on a private road when he suddenly left the wet road in a right-hand bend and as a result fell about 20 meters down a 30-degree slope.
The car got stuck in the bushes
“The vehicle rolled over once and got stuck in the bushes,” police said. The driver and his 15-year-old passenger were injured in the accident. After first aid, they were taken by ambulance to the district hospital in Zams.
The wrecked car was subsequently recovered by the Galtür volunteer fire brigade.
