Visa approved – happy ending for father from Graz and his family

It was a desperate, seemingly hopeless path with more and more stumbling blocks: As reported, the Vietnamese girlfriend of a man from Graz had to give birth to two children alone in her homeland. And still worry and fight for them because the babies were born way too early.

Young Thu, who works internationally and is well educated, simply did not get a visa to enter the country. The whole thing dragged on for almost a year; According to Christoph R. from Graz, the last rejection (!) alone took months. “From our point of view, there’s no reason not to.”

Now it happened in a flash: Governor Christopher Drexler and even Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen campaigned for the family – and within a few days there was the redeeming news: a visa was issued for the Vietnamese woman. First for six months. Unfortunately, this required the help of the two politicians, because apparently all bases really speak for a positive settlement.

But Christoph R. now only wants to look ahead: “I want to thank the ‘Krone’ very much for picking up on our fate, and also for the great feedback from the readers,” says the engineer, overwhelmed. “I can’t even tell you how happy I am! To finally have my family in Graz, to see my children not only growing up on the screen of their mobile phone.”

Some things have yet to be clarified, but he is confident that Christmas in Graz can be celebrated as a family.

Christopher Drexler is also happy. But what happens after six months? “Our experts will provide as much support as possible so that it can stay that way. After all, it is about the common future of a Styrian family.”
