A nasty surprise Friday morning for the inhabitants of the Tyrolean municipality of Wildermieming in the district of Innsbruck-Land: According to the municipality, the water supply in the village has been completely stopped since the night. A leak in the piping system is suspected. The population is urged to “keep calm”.
Since Thursday late in the evening, households in the approximately 1,000 inhabitants of Wildermieming can no longer be supplied with water, it says on ‘Krone’ request. “We assume there is a leak somewhere in the piping system. It is still unclear exactly where and how that could have happened.”
Temporary water supply
Residents are asked to remain calm, boil any remaining water as a precaution for at least three minutes and wait for further information. Water can now be skimmed from the active village well. A water supply with drinking water from the municipality and the fire brigade is being worked on.
The Wildermieming fire brigade is also investigating the leak with a drone from the Landeck district.
