A car became “independent” in Carinthia on Thursday, rolling hundreds of meters over sloping terrain and even crossing two streets. Road users have been very lucky.
The car was parked in a sloping parking lot of an accommodation near Bad Kleinkirchheim. Suddenly the vehicle began to roll, crossing two streets and fields. It then crashed through a fence, fell over a sea wall and ended up in a creek.
“The car rolled down 250 meters,” says the Bad Kleinkirchheim fire brigade, who were warned to deploy. The car was lifted out of the bed with the help of a salvage crane. “It could have ended badly. Fortunately, there were no injuries,” said the emergency services.
