A 43-year-old Turk has faced several charges for persecuting his estranged wife. But nothing stopped the father of three from further stalking – and so the next trial at the regional court of Feldkirch took place on Friday.
This time, the recalcitrant Turk is charged with ongoing persecution and forgery. The last unstable man is said to have listed his wife as his landlady on a registration form from the municipality of Hard and forged her signature. The court experience admits the latter, but justifies it by saying that he feared losing his apartment if his estranged wife stopped paying the rent at some point.
But let’s leave the sideshow for a moment and move on to the repetition, the persistent pursuit. Because the 42-year-old woman no longer wants to live under the thumb of her patriarchal husband, she leaves him. He refuses a divorce. Instead, he commits psychological terror by repeatedly ambushing the woman. She finally filed a complaint last year. It comes down to the process. It ends for the 43-year-old with an amicable settlement and a fine.
The abandoned man is nevertheless not insightful. Instead of acting peacefully, he continues to make the now mentally ill woman’s life hell through telephone terror and patrols. In August he is finally cracked to a fine of 1200 euros on probation. An entry or approach ban is issued. As a result, the convict continued undaunted three days later.
word to word
And so, as you can guess, the next conviction doesn’t deter him. For Friday’s hearing, he comes straight from custody and is accompanied by two prison guards. It’s one word against another. The trial continues on November 3.
