An exceptionally long passenger train, nearly two kilometers long, set out from Switzerland on Saturday to set a world record. It covered almost 25 kilometers in Graubünden with 25 four-car trainsets linked together. Seven drivers were employed.
The record distance led over a mountain route to Alvaneu. The 100-car train climbed nearly 800 meters on the 46-minute journey on the UNESCO World Heritage route Albula/Bernina, passing two loop tunnels and two more loops, and crossing the famous Landwasser Viaduct.
Thousands of spectators followed the world record hills and valleys along the train route.
About 400 people took action on Saturday. After the successful attempt, he received a certificate from Guinness World Records in a marquee. A representative of the organization came from Turkey on Friday and checked all relevant details.
