They lured dozens of young girls with false promises and finally exploited the victims in Viennese sex studios with threats and beatings – now two Hungarian brothers are in prison.
“Pleasant working environment, lucrative earnings” – with tempting promises, the suspects are said to have “hunted” in poor villages in Hungary since 2014. In the crosshairs of the brothers: women without prospects who had hoped for a better future through prostitution.
Women stayed a few euros a day
When they ended up in one of the sex studios in Vienna, the victims’ dream quickly turned into a nightmare: the girls had to be available to the sex clients 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The originally promised 50 percent of the income was no longer forthcoming. But on the contrary.
The women were lucky if they had a few euros a day to spare for food and drink. Those who rebelled were beaten – or threatened to harm their families back home. After Ferenc R. was caught by the special unit in Hungary at the end of February, the handcuffs clicked for the previously fled Péter R. in Vienna.
Entrance in brothel
Despite the brother’s earlier arrest, he unabashedly continued the illegal trade. Recently, however, he clicked in front of several alleged victims in a brothel in the federal capital. Now the 44-year-old has been extradited to the Hungarian authorities at the Hegyeshalom border crossing.
