As reported, the attack took place on the night of March 12 in a bar in Wiener Neustadt. There, the man allegedly mixed a substance, presumably knockout drops, into the victim’s drink and then brutally raped her in the toilet. A rapid drug test came back positive and the 13-year-old has no memory of anything. The result of a toxicology report is still pending.

The 21-year-old Romanian citizen was arrested on the evening of March 15 in Gloggnitz in the Neunkirchen district. Erich Habitzl, spokesman for the public prosecutor’s office in Wiener Neustadt, confirmed on Monday that there was no urgent suspicion against the suspect. He pointed out that the rape case against the 21-year-old is still pending despite his release.
