Weapon found – 16-year-old arrested after mass brawl

After a mass brawl broke out in the Vorarlberg town of Feldkirch eight days ago, police have now arrested a 16-year-old Syrian. During the interviews, numerous other suspicions emerged about the boy and a weapon was also found on him.

On Saturday, October 21 around 6:30 PM, an attempted robbery and a fight took place between several young people at Sparkassenplatz in Feldkirch. A then unknown young man, with the support of a third person, apparently wanted to take the contents of his shoulder bag from another young person. To reinforce the demand, the second perpetrator threatened with brass knuckles, which he held against the victim’s temple.

Several shots were fired
The robbery failed and the victim informed two brothers who came to Sparkassenplatz and wanted to confront the foreign youths. An altercation and a scuffle then ensued, during which an unknown man fired several shots with an empty handgun.

Suspicion of numerous other crimes
After intensive investigation and investigation, Feldkirch police were able to track down and interrogate a 16-year-old teenager from Syria. According to the police, other crimes were suspected, such as serious bodily harm, fighting, violations under the Arms Act, burglary and simple theft, embezzlement, damage to property and unauthorized use of vehicles.

Butterfly knife found
During a search of the suspect’s home, a butterfly knife and a spice mill (grinder) with cannabis residue were found. The youngster was taken to Feldkirch prison on the orders of the public prosecutor.
